How to Prepare: ONLINE SESSION INFO

 

FOR NEW STUDENTS!
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE ATTENDING CLASS:

Hello, 

Thank you so much for participating in my VIRTUAL SERIES!

I can't begin to say how excited I am work with you. Before we begin our sessions together I want to cover a few things to get you prepared, so that each class runs as smoothly as possible.

First off I just wanted to say that,

In regards to PROMPTS CLASSES OR EVOCATIVE SESSIONS:
YOU DO NOT NEED A POLE, JUST A SPACE TO MOVE & DANCE.
THESE ARE PROMPT FOCUSED CLASSES.

HEEL LAB AND PROGRESSIONS CLASS REQUIRE POLES. SO IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY ADD THAT CLASS IT CAN BE RESCHEDULED TO A PROMPT OR EVOCATIVE SERIES INSTEAD.

Secondly, to make the experience run smoothly, I would encourage that you have 2 to 3 separate devices available for class.

  1. To watch the class via Zoom (REQUIRED)

  2. To play music via Spotify (REQUIRED)

  3. To record your movement (OPTIONAL)

Please, download  ZOOM.us (App/Program on your tablet, laptop, or desktop) and Spotify at least one hour before class begins. Also, make sure to log into the class 15 minutes prior to session. This should enable you to work out all technical issues, allow time to settle in, and anything else you might need.

Be mindful the that time we are scheduled is when WE ACTUALLY START THE CLASS, so the 5-10 mins prior is a great time to enter the session.

Before we start class, please make sure you understand, and know where all these functions:

  • Mute/Unmute (Zoom)

  • Video/No Video (Zoom)

  • Raise Hands (Zoom)

  • Manage Participants (Zoom)

  • Chat Section (Zoom)

  • Music Controls on your Device (your phone/Spotify)

  • Lighting (in your space)

Other things you might also need:

  • A notebook/pen

  • Water/Snacks

  • Comfortable Clothing/Layers

Class will start promptly at it's designated time. Classes will be on EST, so please take into account your time zone when deciding which class works best for you.

Make sure that you are ready, and that your surroundings are as comfortable as possible when class begins. If you cannot situate yourself before class, you will have a difficult time getting into the prompts if you’re struggling with the set up.

I encourage that you try participate by minimizing external distractions, and leaving your video on so that you can make the most of your time during our sessions. You are encouraged to give feedback in-between movement sections, and on occasion enter small group discussions during class. Nevertheless, it is not a requirement. Consent is important throughout these all of the sessions, and if something makes you feel uncomfortable, make space and give yourself the permission to not participate until you are ready to do so.
